Candle Care

Our candles are lovingly hand poured in Yorkshire to maximise the scent in your home. Follow these tips to keep you safe and the candles releasing beautiful fragrance every burn.

Start in a well ventilated room without any drafts or fans which can cause uneven burning.

Burn your candles until the melted wax reaches the edge of the glass. This avoids tunnelling which shortens the length of burn time.

Do not burn your candles for more than 4 hours, it may distort the wick and over heat the glass (2 hours for votives) Stop burning with 10mm of wax at the bottom.

After extinguishing the flame and the wax had cooled trim your wick to 5mm before every burn. This avoids high flames, smoking and sooting.

If a wick is burning too close to the edge, extinguish it with a snuffer, allow it to cool and straighten to the middle before relighting.

Remove any burnt wick or match debris from the wax pool to keep it burning at its best.

Store candles with a lid to avoid dust build up. Wipe any dust and condensation off before relighting. Storing for a long time will effect the scent so use your candle.

Diffuser Care

Maximising you reed diffuser life and how to handle

All our diffusers are hand made and use fibre reeds to fragrance your space for longer.

To keep them in top condition remove the cap from the bottle and insert the reeds (and dried flowers if applicable).

Its recommended you turn the reeds (not the dried flowers if you have them) over ever two weeks to boost the scent. Be careful to avoid drips and spillages and always wash your hands afterwards. Liquid may stain any furniture or fabrics so we suggest placing it on a protective plate.

Gradual scent is released once the reeds are saturated. The size of your space will make a difference, the smaller the room the stronger the scent. The temperature of a room will also make a difference. Warmer rooms mean more fragrance is released so be careful not to place next to a radiator.
